Cancellation and Returns

You can cancel your contract at any time up to 7 days after the day of delivery. We do require details of your wish to cancel in writing either by email to or by post to FurnitureImages.co.uk, 1st Floor 196 High Road, London, N22 8HH.

We aim to respond within 1 working day to confirm the cancellation and details of the refund due. There is no particular requirement to give a reason for cancellation; however, a brief explanation will help us to improve the service we offer to customers in the future.

Please ensure the goods are packaged adequately to protect against damage.

If you fail to take reasonable care of the goods before they are returned to us and these result in damage or deterioration, we will charge you for the reduction in value.

We can arrange a collection at a cost of £60 per order.

Please ensure you check your item thoroughly to ensure you are 100% satisfied before the delivery team departs.

Mattresses cannot be returned if they are removed from their original packaging.

Flat pack items cannot be returned if they have been assembled.

For your security and protection refunds are given by the same method which the payment was made by.

This cancellation policy does not affect your statutory rights.

Replacement of damaged goods

Goods that are damaged on arrival with the customer will be replaced at no additional cost. It is in the customers own interests to unwrap and fully inspect all furniture at the time of delivery.

To keep your items in the best possible condition they are carefully packaged to avoid damage during transit. When you receive your goods please, please, please remember to keep the packaging until you're 100% satisfied with your order. In the unlikely event that you need to return the item we can only accept it in its original packaging. This is really important, as each piece of furniture needs the same amount of protection returning to our warehouse as it does on its way to our customers.

Please report all damages within 48 hours following delivery; all claims must be supported by photographs and it is the responsibility of the customer to show the damage has not been caused by any misuse or mishandling following delivery. All claims must be supported by photographs.

Delivery

All items featured on this web site are normally delivered to the customer within 4 to 15 working days, on average less than 10 days. For certain area it may take slightly longer. Please contact us for more info.

If items are not in stock we will let you know what the estimate delivery time is. In all cases delivery quotes are not guaranteed but should be regarded as a guide to the anticipated waiting time under normal circumstances.

Vehicle Access

Please help us to ensure a satisfactory delivery by telling the delivery company if you think a large vehicle might have difficulty reaching the address. This could be because of factors such as narrow roadways, tight corners or low trees, cables or building overhangs. We believe it is better to agree an alternative delivery destination in advance, rather than have our customers suffer delays, inconvenience and the additional cost of the unsuccessful delivery.

Goods delivered by the delivery company will be placed in the customer’s preferred room, provided that reasonable access is available.

If assistance is likely to be required in unpacking and inspection of the goods, please mention this to the delivery company when they telephone to arrange delivery.

It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure the furniture they purchase can pass through the doorways, hallways, rooms and staircases to the room of their choice. In the event of restricted access the delivery staff will leave the goods at the nearest convenient point for the customer.

It will not be the responsibility of Furnitureimages.co.uk to deliver, unpack or assemble furniture in locations that have no reasonable access for the items being delivered.

A residential phone number must be provided for all orders placed, and this number must be for the address on the order, and in the name of the person placing the order. We must also have a mobile phone number.

Protection of carpets/flooring

Staff making deliveries are required by law to wear protective footwear at all times. As they are not allowed to remove this footwear when unloading the vehicle, gaining access to the property, or carrying furniture into the property, we strongly advise customers to make proper provision to protect their carpets and flooring. We do not accept responsibility for any marks or damage that may inadvertently be caused by delivery staff during the normal course of their work.

Delivery of large items

Larger items, such as beds, wardrobes and tables, in the ranges of fully assembled furniture are often supplied partly dismantled to assist in delivery. FurnitureImages.co.uk does not undertake to assemble these items. However, if assistance is required with assembly this service can be purchased in advance from the delivery company. Please discuss your requirements with them when they telephone to arrange delivery.

Delivery times

Every effort is made to make deliveries at the time arranged. However when making hundreds of deliveries every week, the difficulties caused by traffic congestion and weather conditions (including snow, ice, wind, rain and flood) can sometimes cause delays to these schedules. On some rare occasions permitted driving hours regulations may force these delays to extend overnight or longer. We regret we cannot compensate customers for delivery delays caused by events beyond our reasonable control.

Delivery of self assembly furniture

Self assembly furniture in its own packaging is normally delivered by courier direct from the manufacturer (there are some exceptions to this, such as self-assembly dining sets, please check when ordering if you are unsure). Please see the terms and conditions below relating to delivery by courier.

Delivery by courier (service not available in Ireland)

Divan beds and self assembly furniture are normally delivered by courier. Where goods are delivered by courier, the following terms apply:
1. Drivers are often alone, and for heavier items will need some assistance to unload the goods.
2. We pay extra for the items to be booked in prior to delivery, however the courier company sometimes turn up without booking in, if this is not convenient, then please be firm with them, arranging a mutually convenient date.
3. When items are in stock and ready to be despatched, we quote 3 – 5 working days for items that are being sent by courier, however it can occasionally take less or longer.
4. All Items must be unpacked and checked on delivery prior to signing the delivery documents from the courier company.
5. If items have any damages they must be sent back on the same courier van that delivers them, with the packaging back on them, and signed for as “damaged”.
6. Any damages must be reported prior to the departure of the delivery drivers/ courier.
7. The courier company have it in their terms and conditions that they must allow you the customer a reasonable time to check the goods, before accepting.
8. All returned items, are reordered automatically for customers.
9. Customers have the right to cancel any goods they receive, up to 7 days after receipt, and receive a full refund. The goods must be in their original packaging, and be in perfect condition. The customer will be liable for all delivery and collection costs incurred should they cancel within the 7 days. A refund will only be given, once the goods have been received by us, and inspected.

Care, inspection and handling of goods

Wood will exhibit variations in colour, grain pattern and tone within individual pieces of furniture and between different items of furniture from the same range. This is not a fault but a natural characteristic of the material. Wood will also change colour as it ages. Again this is not a fault but part of the inherent characteristics of the material.

It is not unusual for wooden furniture to crack or split as the timber settles; this happens more frequently with waxed furniture and is completely normal.

Wooden furniture will swell in damp conditions and shrink in hot, dry conditions. The furniture we supply is not suitable for areas which attract strong sunlight and heat such as conservatories.

Waxed furniture requires regular wax treatments to preserve its appearance. The wax is merely a coating on bare wood, and as such the wood will exhibit shiny marks where the wax may have been rubbed. This is natural and unavoidable.

No wooden products are stain or heat resistant, although a lacquered product offers slightly greater protection.

No refunds will be payable for damage caused by mishandling furniture, misuse of furniture or the application of unsuitable coatings, polishes or abrasives.

Distressed furniture

Customers are required to familiarise themselves with what is commonly understood by the terms ‘distressed finish’ and ‘distressed furniture’ before ordering such items. These terms mean the goods will exhibit a variety of imperfections to the surfaces, such as cracked, flaking or incomplete paintwork or lacquer, marks, gouges, splits or cracks to the surfaces or any other blemishes deliberately intended to create a worn, aged or re-used appearance.

Painted furniture

Wood and wood-based furniture has inherent inconsistencies in the absorbency of its surfaces. It is inevitable therefore that this will result in some colour variations in the finish on mass-market painted furniture. There are also variations in colour finishes as depicted on the internet due to technical factors, such a lighting of the furniture when photographed, editing of images and variations between video display units.

Paint is normally only applied to the external surfaces of furniture. Internal surfaces will either be in bare wood or a thin or mist coat.

Website Prices

If a price has been shown incorrectly on the FurnitureImages.co.uk website, the company reserves the right to cancel any customer orders placed at that price and return in full any payment received.

Special orders

Goods which are ordered to a non-standard specification or finish cannot easily be offered for resale, so they are classed as special order items. Customers who cancel a special order are liable for the costs incurred by FurnitureImages.co.uk. This includes any carriage costs incurred or any charges made to us by the manufacturer.

All special orders are subject to a non-refundable deposit of 50%.
